OnePlus is finally moving ahead smartphones & accessories with the upcoming OnePlus Tv. An Amazon listing of the OnePlusTV confirmed that it would sport eight speakers, producing a total of 50W output. The listing also confirms that OnePlusTV will support Dolby Atmos. The landing page for the OnePlus TV is live now on Amazon India, within a few weeks before the expected launch in India. For openers, India will get the 55-inch variant, which is ideal for the average Indian family. There’s support for Dolby Vision for an improved HDR (High Dynamic Range) viewing experience with better brights and darker blacks. There will be a QLED Panel which is known to enhance brightness and colours dramatically.
CEO Pete Lau recently told that the OnePlus TV would be positioned in the premium segment. And also compete with the likes of Samsung and Sony and not Xiomi’s Mi TV range. OnePlus Tv will be able to run a modified version of Google’s Android TV platform and will also receive software updates for at least three years. Earlier the company had said that their TV would support a 4K QLED display and tipped to be paired with Mali G51 GPU, powered by a MediaTek MT5670 SoC.
The company also said the TV would be an Android device loaded with Google Assistant, Chromecast built-in and Google Play. The TV can be controlled via voice commands such as calendar, weather, controlling smart home devices, and even look up specific movies and shows.

Its’s all about seamless integration between phone and TV. So, that there’s no confusion getting content from your phone to your TV. OnePlus has confirmed to deliver smooth, and fast performance as customers expect from the company that it will be based on Android TV.
It has also been open about taking into a more extensive ecosystem as a smart home device manufacturer.

In a conference with The Economic Times, Pete Lau explained the TV as a “flagship killer” – indicating that pricing will be designed to challenge those LG, Sony, and Samsung rivals. The price of this TV has not been officially confirmed yet. But it is rumoured that the cost would be in the range of ₹35000 to ₹45000.
